※ Catch the legendary Pokemon using 3DS AR function!?
※・Activate exclusive 3DS software “Pokémon Dream Radar.”
※ Use AR (expanded reality) function with camera.
※ Find “Dream Orbs” surrounding you, and collect them.

※・If you collect certain amount of “Dream Orbs,”
※ legendary Pokémon will appear on AR monitor.
※↓
※When legendary Pokémon will show up, catch him !

In this game player doesn’t catch Pokémon with Poke Balls,
but by using Gyro function of 3DS, and repeatedly pressing a button.
Takao drew the illustration to help understand the concept.

The idea is very different to the one in original, RPG style Pokémon games.
The priority was, to make player feel good, having dynamic controls.

Like playing tennis, for example.
The most important thing is to use the racket skillfully.
To improve your own skill, you can challenge progressively more skillful opponents.
The type and length of play will depend on who your opponent is.

It’s important to proceed with programming in a smooth manner,
and make a game with no delays.
We also need to produce the game’s visuals in a smooth and timely fashion, too.

What’s the best way to develop a game?
We considered these questions and used our conclusions
to produce the game “Pokémon Dream Radar”!!!

For the first time ever!

Because Pokémon originates from Japan,
since Red/Blue in 1996,
we have been releasing information in Japan first.

But this time everything changes.
Pokémon X/Y will be launched at a same time, worldwide!

As announced on January 9th, on “Pokémon.com”
- international Pokemon website,
legendary Pokémon names will be same worldwide.

“XERNEAS” “YVELTAL”

Pronunciation for names in Japanese is:
“Zeruneasu”
“Iberutaru”

And in English it is:
“ZURR-nee-us”
“ee-VELL-tall”

You might wonder why this information is
not available on the Japanese official homepage.

Frankly. This is the first time in a history,
while fans from abroad are getting news faster, than fans in Japan.

In a way, simultaneous game launch,
became a special event for our fans from abroad.

So, everyone who just saw the new legendary Pokemon names:
“XERNEAS” “YVELTAL”,
congratulations !
You are the very first in the world!!!

At last! The time has come.

Hello everyone!
On Sunday, December 16th 2012.
I had a autograph session at “Animate” in Akihabara.
There were so many people. Thank You very much for coming!
Here are some details of the event.

Many people were waiting in the line since very early morning.
I was wondering how many of you will come and it was amazing!
Some people came at 4 am and were waiting in cold!!!
Thank you so much! I really appreciate it.

Initially, we were planning to have two signing sessions.
One at 11.00 and another at 14.00.
However, because so many fans came, I did one more session.
Still, there was no enough time to sign for everyone.
I would like to say sorry to everyone who couldn’t get an autograph.
Please wait till next time !
So, our event started at 11 o’clock.
I disguised myself as a new member of Team Plasma!
“Pokémorning!!”
“Plaaasma!!”

Staff of GAME FREAK’s new game “HarmoKnight”
also joins. They answered the “Pokémon” and “HarmoKnight”
questions which I received previously by using my Twitter!

“HarmoKnight” ; GAME FREAK’s new game, team members came
to answer some questions, which were previously asked by our fans on Twitter.

Next, autograph session started!
If you take a closer look at a illustration,
you will notice we used a special kind of paper. Which is… !!

Illustrated collaboration between “Pokémon” and “HarmoKnight” !

James, “HarmoKnight” game director and character designer
drew this picture especially for this event!
James is also responsible for some Pokémon character designs!
And as usually, we had a photo session afterwards!
These are photos with all, 180 people who participated at this autograph session!

Everyone was great! Wonderful!!!
We set up a play corner for “HarmoKnight” and our
company members were introducing the game.
(If you haven’t play the game yet, please give it a try!)

It was a very precious time for our crew members,
to have a chat with everyone.

Everytime we have this kind of session ,
I receive a lot of positive energy from everyone!
It was very nice talking to you directly!!

As I announced earlier on my Twitter,
because “Team Plasma” is taking control over many places,
I myself, decided to join them. It looks fun!

Great news!!

There will be another autograph session!!

On Sunday, December 16th 2012, from 11am and from 14pm.
(twice during the day), I will have an autograph sessions at “Animate”: Akihabara branch!

This will be my first autograph session at “Animate”, so I feel quite excited !

Today is exactly one year since I started to tweet!

There are more than 33,000 people following me.
Thank you very much, everyone!

During this one year, I have been receiving
a lot of messages from all over the world.

With questions about game contents, Pokémon Center, as well as about daily life.
I have learned a lot about people who love Pokémon about their
countries and places they live.

The autograph session I had at all Pokémon Centers in Japan
also could happen because of twits I received.

I’m very happy I can communicate with all of you,
and I’m very glad, I started to use twitter : )

I deeply appreciate your support!

New challenge!!

We have been developing a system, which would allow us to make a new,
great games, without loosing a creative freedom.

Even so, its pretty hard to come up with something new.

Then,
in a year 2009,
We rearranged the whole structure again.
Coming up with developing system, which initially requires only three people,
and concentrates on practical part instead of complex proposals.

Why we gave up on a traditional methods?
How interesting it would be, if dodgeball or basketball games,
were just proposals submitted on paper? Not really.

We concluded, that it is much better, to have an opportunity to play and
improve an ideas in practice, from the very beginning.
It improves potential,? and creative opportunities.

Since then, GameFreak has been working in this, new unique style.

And in a year 2012,
we will announce a new software.
It is coming!
A new game from GameFreak! Other than Pokémon!
