No. 36

On Saturday, April 23rd, 2005. We held the long-anticipated
‘Kono Yubi Tomare (Follow Me).’

It was held in a large meeting room inside the
building of Game Freak!

(Please note that this column “Kono Yubi Tomare (Follow Me)”
was an event planned and held in 2005.)

Well, I had great fun!
I met such wonderful people there.

Those who came really loved Pokemon dearly,
were eager to hear our stories,
and had the dream of pursuing an active
career as a creator.
Therefore they seem eager to know what beliefs
we have and how we elaborate our projects.
I tried my best to talk about such topics from
a larger point of view.
As we talked about such topics, I realized how
lucky I was to have people understand
what I wanted to say about my work.

As I’ve been developing games for many years,
there are times when I lose track of how the players
would think or feel about our games.
But thanks to this event, I seem to be able to clear
up my feelings, or, reaffirm my intentions.
It was really exciting to hear their comments.

Yes, really!
It was such a fun party!

‘Make the best of it’ is such a simple phrase,
but I could feel the weight of its meaning at this
meaningful event.

Thank you very much to all of you who participated!

Ciao!
